Immunogen: The antibody was raised against a peptide target conserved in all known RbcL proteins (Rubisco large subunit, Rubisco Form I).

Rubisco antibody will recognize denatured Rubisco large subunit from following taxonomic groups: Check here!

Anti-RbcL antibodies have been tested on whole protein extracts from following samples: mixed phytoplankton (dominated by diatoms), Lichen: Lobaria pulmonaria ; Hydrilla verticulata,
Higher plants:
Medicago sativa L(alfa alfa), Maize leafs, Solanum tuberosum(potato), Pisum sativum (pea), Camelia sinensis (tea), Ulmus (american elm); Grass: Spartina alterniflora.

Conclusion:Anti-RbcL antibodies can detect Rubisco protein from 102.6 fmoles, when using ECL Advance (AmershamBiosciences) as developing reagent. Both, primary antibodies and secondary antibodies were diluted to 1:50 000.

Immunolocalization: so far in a grass species on tissue which was formaldehyde-fixed and paraffin-embedded. Following the protocol from Gonzalez et al.Plant Physiol. V. 116, April 1998.

Recommended dilution: from 1: 2 000 to 1:20 000 with standard ECL.
1: 50 000 with ECL Advance.
